I’m Caterina but you can call me Kate, cate, cat 🐱 or whatever nickname works for you.
I’m from Florence, Italy (yup, another Italian hehe 🇮🇹) and the dome you see in the first pic 📸 is that of the main cathedral of the city.
Also, fun fact: the color that symbolizes Florence is also purple so I love that for us 😁💜
A bit of my AFS journey:
– It began in 2012 with a summer program in Ireland 🧚
– It continued in 2013 when I hosted a student from Costa Rica for a year 🌴 – fun fact: I went to visit him this august after 9 years apart! You can see us in the second pic 📸
– I did a year program in Japan 🍜 in 2014 (my host siblings and I in the 4th pic 📸), which led me to move to Tokyo for the first year of university 🇯🇵
I have been volunteering for 6 years now and been loving every bit of it! 🏳️🌈
After graduating in Intercultural Communication 🌍in Torino, I am currently doing an Erasmus program in Spain 🇪🇦 as part of my master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology. Basically, I’m living and breathing the AFS spirit and honestly, I can’t have enough of it! 💪🏻
I love traveling (especially backpacking and camping 🏕️) and every kind of adventure and adventurous sports in nature 🏄.
I’m a food junkie, especially when it comes to Asian food 🤤 and my favorite meal is definitely breakfast 🥞
